Review on ๐Ÿ’ก Revolutionary RICH OPTO Photopolymer: Non-Brittle & Elastic with Remarkable Resolution by Esvin Hopuhnopuhlis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Clearly transparent with missing small protrusions, but surprisingly good detail on large parts.

I ordered the black version and was a little disappointed to find that it's partially transparent (also seems to match Rich-Opto's Standard Black reviews). It still reads black, but subtle details are easily visible. (My reference to "real" black resin is Elegoo Standard Black). At the same time, the detailing is still quite good - on par with, and maybe even slightly better than, that of the Elegoo Black Resins. So why three stars? This is partly due to misleading color coding, but more importantly fine detail does not print well with this resin. I suspect it has to do with transparency, but I've found that fine details print thinner than expected with this resin, causing them to come out faint or not print at all. For my use case I wanted to increase the stability of thin parts that break easily with standard resins and this disadvantage outweighs this. However, I will note that the thicker parts can handle more twist/flex than the Elegoo Standard Black, so there is some potential here. I might try gray resin as I assume it's not transparent and might work a little better. (I used Rich-Opto Gray Water-washable, and while I didn't prefer it to Elegoo resin, it was fine and definitely not see-through.)
