The jacket perfectly protects against wind and water. The inner lining is a mesh material. So there won't be too much heat. The biggest problem with this is the size. Size 10/12 is perfect for my child who just turned 9. So if in doubt, take one size larger. However, the cuffs and waistband are made of cotton, so they are NOT waterproof like the rest of the jacket. I like them, they are comfortable for my child and the sleeves do not interfere when playing.
