Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Enhance Safety on the Trail with the TIMBER! Mountain Bike Bell - Bolt-On Model by Joey Pritchard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ideal for mountain biking

In general I like it. I saw one of these at my local bike shop before buying it from Revain. It has a sliding lever that is designed to gradually limit the number of "rings" a call makes. The ones I tried in the store had no assortment at all; it was either all on or all off. I didn't like it but suspected it might be broken so I took a chance ordering it here anyway. The one I got has a smoother "scale" of bell addition, but it doesn't do very well below mid-mid - so it's nice and loud enough that it can be softened a bit, but the bass doesn't really work. what is good. I would like to use more low frequencies (smoother, more limited ringing) but this is not happening. A few additional additions: Some of the places I ride often have hikers on the trails and unfortunately a lot of bikers speed down the trails without paying much attention to the hikers, often surprising them from behind and around corners. With this call I can turn it on when I'm approaching pedestrians to let them know I'm walking and I get a LOT of "thanks" for my courtesy. Also, I live in Phoenix, Arizona, so I usually ride at sunrise and right after when it's coolest. A lot of people go there to have some quiet time in nature first thing in the morning, so I don't like driving with a constant bell breaking the silence - I have a bell that I can turn off at any time. We don't need it better for all of us out there.
