NEW DESIGN UPGRADES Since April 2021, we've beefed up everything! With a much stronger on/off lever and a new steel collar internal shank where the bell meets the plastic, this bell won't break even in the gnarliest crashes. Plus a longer life internal cable. MOTION ACTIVATED ring mode for passing on shared use trails / alerting wildlife. Lock-out stealth mode for peaceful silence. INSTALLS EASILY no need to remove grips, brakes, etc. FRIENDLY RING SOUND solid brass bell sound travels a long distance. BOLT ON MODEL mounts tight, won't shake or spin on the bar.

Good idea, but too many design flaws.

Such crap. I share mountain trails in the greater Phoenix area with other cyclists, hikers, and horseback riders. Trails can be tight and corners can be blind at times. I used to use the standard one-hit bell to alert others to my presence. I met another biker who had this modern bell style that allows for a smooth, continuous ring that isn't as annoying as a single hard ring. So a few years ago I bought my first Timber Mtn. $25 is cool for such a simple product. But I liked it so much I bought

  • Absolutely amazing!

Ice! in Sport

I've been riding this bell on my full suspension MTB for about 6 months and recently added it to my single speed MTB. (It replaced a cheap thumb-operated bell.) The freeways in my home state have become increasingly crowded over the years. Ringing a bell seems to sound much better than "rider" or soft "hind". Wood! validates all fields, i think you need a call. Robust construction, good sound transmission, three settings. 1) Possibility of blocking on climbs or on an early day of the week when…

Ideal for mountain biking

In general I like it. I saw one of these at my local bike shop before buying it from Revain. It has a sliding lever that is designed to gradually limit the number of "rings" a call makes. The ones I tried in the store had no assortment at all; it was either all on or all off. I didn't like it but suspected it might be broken so I took a chance ordering it here anyway. The one I got has a smoother "scale" of bell addition, but it doesn't do very well below mid-mid - so it's nice and loud enough…

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • Communication with the seller

Defective and broken on arrival but excellent warranty

Update 2 - New ringer installed and I'm happy with it. It doesn't have the problems that the first two I got had. It's a nice and sellable sentiment, and it's not divisive at first glance. Only time will tell how durable it is, but they back it with a one-year warranty and are constantly improving the design. Update - I contacted Timber through their website and let them know what was going on with my call. They sent me a new one without question and said they had a bad batch on the line. They…

Having a love-hate relationship with these bells

UPDATE: Okay, now I'm on my third bell because the lever to activate the bell keeps breaking, so I've deducted two stars. As much as I love this concept, that will be the last thing I will worry about. The first bell lever broke shortly after buying it in July 2019 while washing the bike. The bristles of the soft brush I used to wash the bike broke the fragile lever. I got a replacement from the company. Two weeks ago, while skiing, a branch was hanging from a sticker bush across the path…
