After I received my mirror, I removed all the old glue from the base of the mirror. Then I applied 3M double sided tape according to the instructions and attached the mirror to the base. The mirror "held" on the base for about 3 days. Then the weather turned cold. While driving on the road, the mirror and mounting adhesive came off the base and shattered on the road. While the 3M product is a good product I don't think it should be used for this application. It was an expensive experiment. I lost $17 plus shipping. I bought a second mirror and attached it to the base with epoxy. The weather turned cold with temperatures in the 50's so stay tuned. The epoxy I used on the second mirror I bought works well. You have to buy it separately but it will be cheaper than buying another mirror like I did.
