I bought these Kefir/Ginger Bug/Kombucha Enzyme Strainers. I've spent months looking in stores but they just don't exist so I was glad to find them. I read the reviews before buying and can say this: I think it takes a certain lack of common sense to dunk flimsy plastic in boiling water and roll your eyes at the bad reviews it gave. I also have enough common sense to put plastic items on the TOP shelf of the dishwasher. But actually I wash them by hand. Yes, they were "crumpled" when they arrived. I think most people who ferment for gut health will appreciate that Revain used the least amount of packaging needed. They came in a plastic bag in a soft envelope along with the other items I ordered. I took them all out and pre-washed them (by hand with soap and hot water) and they're basically back in shape. After my first use. Place it on the rim of the bowl and move a rubber spatula back and forth to strain the kefir. He returned to perfect form and has maintained it ever since. Seriously, relax! You seem strong. We rub and beat a little to separate the kefir grains and they hold up great. Yes, the smaller screen has slightly smaller holes. So I think if it's important we use a different bowl size and/or do a little bit at a time. I mostly use the medium bowl as it fits my bowl and I like it, but we've all used them. They're made of plastic. I don't expect them to last forever. They were a reasonable price. I would definitely buy them again.
