Exactly What I Needed - Strainers and Food Strainers

Need a non-reactive, low-odor option for straining kefir and this is it. I really only needed the small one, but buying them individually costs almost as much as a set, so I figured why buy them all now? Worked well, didn't overflow and I didn't have to stir, just shake a bit. The small size fits well in a wide-necked liter jar. They've only had them for a week, so no problem to report. The only complaint is that I think they are a bit overpriced due to the fragility of the material. ETA: Okay,

crushed. And even if they weren't.

I have to repeat the experience of another reviewer, particularly with the "Sold by Mosabox" filters. While no other parts of the package were damaged, the screens arrived crushed as if stored under a heavy object. I tried to put them back into the right shape but they still looked very strange. Even if they were the correct shape as shown in the pictures I'm not sure I would be happy with the purchase. The plastic is very thin, like what you'd find in a dollar store. I think it's better to…

Strainer for kefir Metal-free

Nylon mesh strainer. I use it to strain milk kefir. You get 3 sizes. They don't fit in glasses. I believe they are made to fit in a bowl. I sift the kefir into a bowl and then pour it into another container. They're light but stay on the bowl well when you're pouring milk kefir. I had no problems cleaning them. They clean well in the top rack of the dishwasher. They haven't retained any smells since I bought them 4 months ago. I only use them to strain milk kefir, so I'm not sure about the…

Ideal for pool use!

You need one outside for the pool and then one inside for a coffee pot or whatever my husband makes with his. I picked up a small one to use with the pool skimmer basket. I don't like climbing blind so I use little plastic filters to scoop out what I can't see and then stick my hand in to get the basket out of the skimmer and it works great for that. I had to cut off small arms or legs, call them what you will. seem to be of better quality than the cheap dollar tree. but not too much. The nylon

Lightweight, versatile and easy to care for

They don't look good but will last a few years and are ideal for light workloads. I use them for straining kefir, yogurt (lined with gauze), straining beets from kvass, rinsing Miracle Noodles, and various other rinses/strainers. The large size is perfect for straining 1 liter of yoghurt, the medium size is perfect for my canning funnel and the smallest size is great for straining kefir into wide-mouth glasses. I wouldn't use it for straining broth, but I use it almost every time I need a…

EXCELLENT FOR BREAKING KEFIR!

I just received it yesterday. It fits perfectly on my blender. I have vitamin mix. I use medium size for this. I use a rubber spatula to move it around to completely strain the kefir milk and then, voila! Kefir! I've been making kefir for a little over a week and we love eating kefir shakes every morning! I used a metal screen but I read metal is bad so I went with these little nylon screens. You are perfect. I put them on the top shelf of the dishwasher and they came out great! I read another…

One broke after second use

Pros: I like it because food doesn't collect on the edges of the colanders like regular stores do. The smallest also has the smallest holes, while the medium and large have the same mesh holes. Cons: The smallest ripped where the mesh was attached to the round plastic after the second use. I only hand washed them and was very surprised at the gap. Otherwise, two large units lasted a month, so I may have just gotten a broken one. I use two large ones to strain the kefir grains and then add a…

weak plastic. I threw them away. Avoid.

I love Revain. Have been a customer since they opened their doors. However, I am reminded from time to time why they can be outperformed by a regular retail outlet like (shudders) Wal-Mart. This product is such a reminder. This is the worst kind of trivial garbage masquerading as something good. I had a dozen of these white plastic filters with stainless steel filters. They always end up breaking, but they're cheap and ubiquitous. I broke mine, quickly searched Revain, saw these and quickly…

Top notch in the Utensils & Gadgets category

I bought these Kefir/Ginger Bug/Kombucha Enzyme Strainers. I've spent months looking in stores but they just don't exist so I was glad to find them. I read the reviews before buying and can say this: I think it takes a certain lack of common sense to dunk flimsy plastic in boiling water and roll your eyes at the bad reviews it gave. I also have enough common sense to put plastic items on the TOP shelf of the dishwasher. But actually I wash them by hand. Yes, they were "crumpled" when they…
