I like the base on this, but the lid is much heavier/awkward than I'd expected. The size is right and it's a quality product, but if I had to do it again I'd pick something with a wood lid that stays attached. I find it a little inconvenient to remove the lid to grab a pinch of salt while I'm cooking. I've also dropped the lid a few times, which scares me that it will break something or damage the counter. Not a bad product, but it doesn't exactly fit with my style of cooking.
