We substituted a similar lamp for a narrow, dark corridor. The old flashlight is no longer for sale (it served us for 5 years until the battery ran out and destroyed it). This light seemed to me the most similar and simplest. Also an update with all the new features where we don't want to constantly use the remote control and change settings. We need a simple overhead motion sensor when entering a dark hallway and it works well. When our newly ordered device arrived it only worked for a day or two and then shut down despite a red blink from the motion sensor and fresh batteries. . Thought to return it to seller immediately. But we contacted them first to let them know about it. The seller was very responsive and did everything right by sending us a new unit very quickly and free of charge which I am happy to report is working great and hopefully for a long time. At the time of writing this review, the replacement device has been in daily use for about 7-9 days with no issues. The device even comes with an extra battery for the remote control, which is a nice touch. We like that we don't have to use too bright white light. We like the brightness of the softer yellow light option. Best of all we like is how we can set it up and forget about it while it does what we need it to do. One star is for a bad first impression.
