Review on Aven 17010 Adjustable Circuit Holder by Johnny Weber

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The price is cheap, as is the device.

It's cheap and it's true. If you're on a tight budget, it does the job. My biggest complaint is that the base is too big and takes up a lot more space than some of the others on the bank where real estate is more expensive. I find the adjustment to different board sizes awkward as the legs move with it. The good ones usually have a heavier base to make them stable and not take up as much space. They are adjustable with a simple adjustment. But of course they cost about $40 + cheap construction, two blue plastic poles. Came with a tension nut, turned out to be in the box. I had to disassemble one side of the spring clip to insert it. Also, you can't tighten to prevent the board from spinning. It's no good if you try a remake and he turns his back on you. I wouldn't buy it again, I wouldn't buy it knowing all this even if it's cheaper. It's too cheap to return and I get to use it a few times when the PCB is too big for my smaller vise.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Good but not great
