Although I never received the unit that Revain ordered (no fault of Revain), I installed it for a friend a few weeks ago. First the installation: it was anything but friendly, especially when the existing air conditioning system had a heating strip. After the assembly was installed, the heater tape had to be removed and reinstalled. There are countless sharp metal surfaces inside the air conditioner and only small hands can do most of the installation. Expect bleeding. Since the 120 V cabling has to be routed somewhere else, an extension must be expected. What I thought was a 1 hour job turned out to be 3 hours and then the adjustments began. With the temperature sensor in the recommended position, a significant amount of cold air flowing into the return air system will cause the unit to cycle on and off continuously. A LONG story, but for the device to cool properly, the sensor had to be mounted outside and to the side of the assembly. It took some creativity to cover it up so it wasn't an eyesore. It really has to be a manufacturer built-in product. Once installed (only 4 hours) it controlled the Mach 8's temperature and internal fan very well. I'll probably buy another one for myself, but I'm in no rush to take on the install again any time soon. . PS Coleman's video totally simplifies what needs to be done and some things are done in the wrong order as required.
