At first I was hesitant to buy them because they were a lot cheaper than competitors like Feeney. I was also concerned about drilling them at a constant angle since my ladder angle wasn't exactly 45 degrees, it was more like 40 degrees. The trick was making my own mount using a small 2x4 section and a longer drill bit than what came in this kit. This made installation easier. I also liked that the cable is attached to the shaft with three set screws that are tightened with a hex wrench. This gives you a very secure connection and doesn't require a special tool to disconnect the cables like other quick disconnect designs I've seen. I love how our basement railing turned out!
