Review on πŸ‘£ Elavae Ultra Hydrating Foot and Hand Repair Cream: Shea Butter, Vitamin E, and Coconut Oil Infused Moisturizer for Cracked Heel Treatment and Dry Skin Care by Amanda Love

Revainrating 3 out of 5

My hands and feet feel hydrated and silky, but Neolon has (or has) the dangerous methylisothiazolinone

The Elavae lotion moisturizes my hands and feet well. I used it on my hands, especially at night after washing my hands a lot during the day. It is soothing, doesn't sting even where I have small cuts of dryness, and leaves my hands soft and silky. I also use it on my legs at night and it makes them very soft. That comfortable, soft feeling lasts and my hands and feet are visibly softer the next morning after using it. It's a small 4 ounce bottle, although I don't need much to get a nice amount of moisture and soften my hands and feet. I find this lotion has a nice but slightly odd citrus scent. There's no scent listed in the ingredients, so I'm guessing it's Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) oil. The smell is not very strong and goes away fairly quickly. This lotion contains dimethicone, which likely makes it feel soft and silky. It says "neolon" but I can only find information about Neolon variations (e.g. neolon 950, neolon m10, neolon PE). As far as I know, Neolon contains (or has) methylisothiazolinone. This preservative has a 'Poor' rating from Paula's Choice, indicating it should only be included in rinse-off products. It also gets a red or high risk warning from the EWG, indicating it's banned in Canada. I would rate this lotion 4 or 5 stars but Methylisothiazolinone really puts me off as it is dangerous and not explicitly listed in the ingredients. 3 stars. Made in the USA. PS: If I'm wrong about neolon, I'll reconsider my assessment. But my research strongly suggests that Neolon does (or does) contain methylisothiazolinone, and I personally don't like this preservative, especially in a leave-in product.
