I bought this along with a cheap chain breaking tool to replace the chain on a KLR650. I'll invest in better tools because the circuit breaker itself broke right away. But this is another story. This chain press did what it was supposed to: press the side plate against the posts far enough to install the chain clip. It was a bit difficult for me to figure out how to work with this, but just follow the instructions (included) carefully and you should be fine. After using this thing once, you can probably throw away the instructions because you probably won't forget how to use it. What I didn't like and what makes me want to buy another tool is the force required to get the side plate down far enough to fit the spring clip. The small Allen key that comes with it doesn't really give much leverage, and there wasn't anything else in my tool box. My friend is stronger than me and was able to tighten it enough to work but I was having issues with myself.
