Review on ๐Ÿš— Enhance Your Ride with Monroe Shocks & Struts OESpectrum 5840 Shock Absorber by Kevin Graham

The old worn out shock absorbers were better.

I installed them on my 1982 El Camino because the old shock absorbers were very soft, as if they were worn out. After installing the shock absorbers I did a 'shock test' by applying pressure to the front bumper and was very surprised to find that they were even softer than the ones I had just removed. Driving the car confirmed that worn shock absorbers were actually better, as the front of the car would roll up and down on any bumps in the road. Maybe this is a one-off pair of Bummers? I've used these shocks on my cars for years because they provide OEM ride control where most 'better' shocks make the ride too harsh. I recently put four of these on my 2004 Ranger pickup and they have been fine. But this couple definitely wasn't.

Pros
  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about, everything is fine
