What you can expect from a mid range unit

I have used this particular brand on many cars that I have restored. They are as good or better than the OEM units and in some cases better than the "performance dampers" that might be used on a family sedan. They were installed in an older Cadillac and I wanted the softer "living room" ride they offer.

Pros
  • shock absorbers
Cons
  • empty

Great replacement for a 1984 Olds Cutlass

Bought a pair of these to replace my 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass which had a very rough/hard ride. They really softened the handling and made the ride a lot smoother. There is also less street noise. Very good replacement at a low price. Comes with all hardware and jacks. Mother.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Very Expensive

The old worn out shock absorbers were better.

I installed them on my 1982 El Camino because the old shock absorbers were very soft, as if they were worn out. After installing the shock absorbers I did a 'shock test' by applying pressure to the front bumper and was very surprised to find that they were even softer than the ones I had just removed. Driving the car confirmed that worn shock absorbers were actually better, as the front of the car would roll up and down on any bumps in the road. Maybe this is a one-off pair of Bummers? I'veโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about, everything is fine
