Wrong filter for 5.3 fluctuating oil pressure

I have a 2010 Silverado with 5.3 and changed the oil a few months ago with this filter recommended for my engine at the time I have installed this oil filter and 6 quarts of 5w 30 synthetic oil and my oil pressure started to drop between 15 and 18 pounds at idle, going from about 35 to 40 with a fram filter, AC or Bosch, I replaced the sensor oil pressure and strainer and my oil dropped from about 50 pounds to 15 pounds in about an hour's ride. I freaked out then I started reading some stories on google about how this happened to others so I went back to Walmart and got another frame filter. and some oil and proceeded to change the oil hoping that was it. Now I weigh 40 to 50 pounds cold and idle about 25 or 30 pounds, it has one hundred and sixty five thousand miles.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
