The lock on my 2005 Tahoe broke a few years ago so I took it to the store to have it replaced and it cost almost $300. After about a month it started making loud noises every time it was locked and the store didn't do anything for me. So I put up with this noise for about a year until I couldn't take it anymore. I went online and found that it's not uncommon for a Tahoe to have been in production for a while. I also found a link to a DIY solution. I thought it couldn't get any worse so I ordered this part and video installed it and it's been working great in the truck for months now.
