Before I bought this tool I was a failure trying to impress the ladies with my oyster shaving skills. Shrapnel, body wounds, whatever. It just wasn't nice. When I first took it out of the box it looked like it was attached to my side as I fought alongside King Arthur and his Sarmatian knights. It's beautiful - the engraving is clean, the steel is highly polished, the handle is strong but tactile. A slight bend near the New Haven-style tip makes it easier to open and cut the muscles in the oyster. Even after many uses, it retains its luster and looks like it hasn't been damaged at all. And best of all, it can be washed in the dishwasher.
