You can only tie down two kayaks with the included tie down straps and straps! Good product!

only used once but it worked very well. Customs service. It should be noted that as others have pointed out, it takes a little trial and error to fake it the first time, but once you get the process up and running it can be done in 10 minutes (we practiced ). I am very happy with this product so far, but the real test will be our vacation this summer. We have to do about 1000 miles with both kayaks on our roof. I'll try to remember to update it after this trip. Our procedure for securing two kayaks with just the gear on was as follows (two people): 1. Attach the stacker to the car's roof rack (we have a Dodge Caliber)2. Lift the first kayak and place it with its hull against the stacker and have one person hold it.3. The second person threads the first tether strap over the first kayak through the top opening of the stacker and then stows the extra backrest over the first kayak.4. Repeat for the second belt.5. The second person lifts the second kayak and places the hull on the stacker.6. The first person then passes the first strap to the second person. The second person then threads the strap under both kayaks and the roof rack back to the first person.8. The first person tightens this strap9. Repeat steps 6-8 for the second strap.10. Find a safe place under the front of the vehicle to hook and secure the bow rope. NOTE: Because our vehicle is smaller, we were only able to tie down the front and back of the kayak with the included blue bow/stern ropes. 11. Pass the other end of the rope through the handle of the first kayak and then through the second. 12. Tie a butterfly knot about 30 cm from the handle of the first kayak.13. Thread the free end of the rope through the carabiner / idler wheel 14. Hook the carabiner into the loop of the butterfly knot -> http://www.netknots.com/rope_knots/butterfly-knot/15. Tighten the rope until there is no slack, but do not overtighten.16. Repeat steps 10-15 for rear assembly.17. Tension the bow and stern ropes evenly up to the stop.18. Tie the loose ends of the rope at one point to keep it from slack, lest it flap in the wind and wear out the fishing line. 19. Fold the excess length of the harness in half and slide under the trained part to secure. 20. Drive about 30 minutes and then stop and check again if everything is still tight. I noticed some loosening after the first 30 minutes, but once I tightened them up they were tight all the way home in high winds. I hope this information helps
