Review on 🍞 Convenient Panasonic SD-RD250 Bread Maker with Automatic Fruit & Nut Dispenser for Effortless Baking by Chris Webb

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great bread maker, the recipes in the instructions are too small to read without a magnifying glass!

I just bought this machine last week and I have tried 4-5 different bread makers. The first bread I tried was heavier than a brick, almost didn't rise, turned out to be inedible and went in the trash. So I went through all the reviews to find some tips. Increasing the amount of yeast (I had brand new ones) by doubling it sounded like a winner so I decided to give it a try. The second bread recipe is from my invaluable book, The Bread Maker Collection, as none of the recipes in that book have failed. When I compared one of his recipes to the white bread recipe that came with the breadmaker, I found that almost all of the servings were EXACTLY the same EXCEPT THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF YEAST, my recipe from my unmodified recipe book called for 2 tsp. Yeast compared to the white bread recipe in the manual which called for 1 teaspoon of yeast. My advice: buy the Bread Maker Collection book, 3 cookbooks in one with Bread Maker recipes; "All New Bread Baking Recipes" and "Amazing Bread Baking Recipes". This is my book about baking bread or making dough in a bread machine and guess what, this bread came out perfect and was delicious! This is the only bread maker recipe book you will ever need as it is full of error free recipes for bread, dough, pizza, bagels etc etc and everyone is a winner. Just make sure you load the ingredients according to what this machine requires, i.e. yeast first, then flour (I sifted the flour and measured it with a stainless steel measuring cup) and so on, and add water last! I don't find the machine that noisy and it's easy to clean and yes it does move around a bit but not much. Just don't put them on a narrow ledge and also unplug the machine after each use. Leave it unplugged between the loaves and it will reset properly. If you follow these tips this machine is a WINNER, just ignore the recipes in the instructions, they are printed for Munchkins and will not work in this machine so they may have been written for a different Panasonic model.
