I bought these knee pads when I started BJJ and had a lot of painful bruises on my knees. The knee pads were very comfortable to wear in class even when kneeling in full protection so I would rate this 5 stars for comfort. The jelly around the kneecap softened the problem area and prevented bruising. The material of the insoles is not breathable, so after wearing them for 5 hours in class I got a very uncomfortable rash for a week. After curing the rash with prescription medication, I tried wearing knee pads to class again, but this time only during sparring - after one night the stinging heat returned, forcing me to stop using knee pads entirely.
