My 10 year old bassett is finding it increasingly difficult to climb wooden stairs. I started with Cosequin DS but sometimes there is lighter interference so I decided to try these stair pads as well. On the day of her arrival, I put her down in a few minutes (it was 12 steps). I didn't have OCD about the perfect measurement, and I did it "by eye" since I wasn't even sure the stair itself was in a perfect square. A little later I gave Sam the opportunity to test them and he went up much faster than the previous weeks. Haven't taken them off to wash and replace yet so can't comment on that. Claims, but after daily use they stay in place and smooth out even more over time. Worst case I can always stick them on with double sided tape to keep them in place but for now they are right where I placed them and doing the job I intended. The price was reasonable and they are an attractive addition. to the oak staircase and don't let that distract you.
