Review on 🚗 Black CURT 11276 Class 1 Trailer Hitch with 1-1/4-Inch Receiver, Compatibility for Select Toyota Prius by Michael Barry

When I fitted the towbar for the first time the holes didn't line up. You were deflected more than 3/4 of an inch. When I measured the distance between the left and right brackets, it was 37.25 inches when it was supposed to be 38 inches in diameter. I was so lazy to install and then uninstall it again! I ended up taking a 2.2 foot 4x4 and my jack between two pieces of wood and pushing the stud mounting arms out about 38.2 inches. This was the best solution I could think of to fix a Curt attachment. After modifying the levers, the screws lined up and I was able to install it. The instructions say it will take 15 minutes to install, but after all the fiddling with adjusting the hitch width, it took me about 2 hours! I'm very upset with Kurt's quality control! They were out of tolerance by almost a full inch, which is plenty if you need to align the screws. The buyer needs to be aware that you may have to either send it back to have them send a new one, or adjust and bend the hitch as needed to make it fit properly. It would be nice if Kurt would catch this with his product before shipping.
