This is my second attempt at creating faux rust on a metal roof with this material. The first attempt was a complete failure as I didn't remove the galvanizing from the roof before painting it with metallic black paint. The second round should have worked as I removed the material, washed, dried and painted with 2+ coats of black iron paint as directed. I let it dry overnight and applied two coats of rust activator 5 minutes apart as directed. From my observation it takes twice as much activator as paint to completely cover the material (I had an extra bottle from a failed attempt). After several hours of polymerisation, the photo shows what I have now. 15 pieces of metal roof lost and a whole day of wasted time. Some may have better luck with other base materials, but I have empty bottles due to unusable product.
