But I had to do a hack. My seat is pushed back and low enough that the backpack can push against it when latched normally. I just used a couple of zip ties to secure it and slide it back a little. That works great. I don't have to take it off, but it's easy enough to reattach the zip tie when needed, or just let it touch the seat. In fact, I have a model that I bought many years ago that had zipped baskets. I've rotated it between the two bikes I ride. I wanted one for each bike so I went with the smaller one with panniers. He was so small he was useless, so he returned. I actually have normal baskets and just wanted a trunk bag. I still mostly put my phone in the side pocket anyway. Now I carry my old one on a bike and can use the zippered saddlebags and this new one on the bike I ride most of my daily commute. I love the side compartments and can use other baskets if I know I need them. In the middle compartment I carry my tools and my pipe. In fact, I find the water bottle holder handy to carry a small spare. I would really like to be able to use it as intended and I can use it on a bike. But it was easy to install and very reliable. I have spare zippers just in case.
