Review on 🎧 OM Digital Solutions WS-300M 256MB Voice Recorder & Music Player by Andrew Patel

Perfect melodic sound engineer

I am an MTSO (Medical Transcription Service Owner) who loves to play with the handheld digital recorders my doctors use before recommending them or sometimes giving them away as encouragement to dictate. I installed two today: a Philips 9350 (about $250) and an Olympus WS-300M (about $75), both good quality portables. Pedal playback of both .dss (Philips) and .wma is easily possible with Australia's Express Scribe, a freeware or proprietary software, one of many available for medical transcription. Easy installation for both? Pretty easy, but the advantage goes to Olympus. Excellent sound quality on both. The Olympus is clearer, has slightly better volume and low background noise, which is a big plus. Transfer files to a computer? Philips and other companies need the software and a USB data cable. Olympus? Wow! I just love it. Disconnect the recorder from its base, plug the recorder into a USB port, use My Computer to view the contents of the recorder listed as Removable Disk (fine) and cut and paste or copy and paste. I like it. The only downside I see with the Olympus is the size and how convenient it is for my doctors depending on how big their hands are to dictate report after report when examining patients using the smaller Olympus portable. Surprising for the price. Let's see how it holds up to repeated use.
