Quality Scratch Brush

Use these to clean motor brushes and see how they remove rust from chipped paint before repainting. The diameter is a bit too big for RC engine to clean old engine manifold, but it works fine!

Good brush for scratches but be careful.

Well made scratch brush. As with any fiberglass bristle scraper brush, it is highly recommended that you wear gloves and a dust mask, and vacuum the work surface regularly to remove microscopic splinters of glass and reduce the risk of silicosis. But it works well if you follow the precautions listed above.

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Almost OK

Works incredibly well for cleaning contacts in old video games (NES, SNES, N64). Just use some IPA and gently wipe away the dirt. Keep away from the solder mask or you will remove it. The brush I received is exactly as pictured, including the word "Germany". The swivel mechanism isn't very smooth, which is a bit disappointing for the price, but overall I'm happy with it.

Not good for cleaning wire contacts

Lots of reviews recommend this wire contact cleaner. I do not recommend it. The brushes fell apart immediately when I started cleaning the metal wire contacts with them. Because this piece uses fiberglass, it becomes a giant mess. The fibers get everywhere, they get stuck in fingers and clothes, and I doubt if they get airborne they're comfortable to breathe. I couldn't even clean a contact before the brush fell apart completely. I would recommend a good contact cleaning spray or a small…

Nice tool but be careful using

I bought this tool to clean electrical contacts and battery posts. This works very well because the brush particles are non-conductive. I've also used it to remove surface rust from steel. Also works well for this as you can access small areas that steel wool or tape can't reach. The brush is made of fiberglass and the brush pieces break off during use. They can get stuck in your skin or worse, in your eyes if you're not careful. Don't use your breath to blow away any remaining debris. Use a…

Good cleaning results for electrical contacts.

I've used this to clean electrical contacts with good results. From time to time, a timer, flashlight, or other battery-powered electronic device will not work properly even though the batteries are good. Wiping the battery contacts and posts with this brush for a few seconds will restore normal operation in most cases. This brush is good for large contacts, while the extra fine brush is good for small contacts and contacts in deep or hard-to-reach places. This brush is not very large, its…

Pros
  • nice stuff
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

The problem with 50 is that all the cool stuff you bought in your 30s is suddenly 10 to 20 years old. I stumbled across an old Nikon external flash a while ago and wasn't too surprised to find the battery compartment was covered in corrosion and the flash looked dead. After several unsuccessful attempts to clean the battery posts with solvents, I searched the internet for advice and found scraper brushes. This was the first time I used a scratch brush. This brush appears to be well made and…

Works well but shouldn't be that expensive

Works well but wears out quicker than expected. No matter how expensive it is, there should be several gas stations for it. I picked this one out of the cheaper ones based on the reviews, but was surprised that it really didn't feel like a $12 tool. value for money? Fur. It says "Made in Germany" but now I'm wondering if it's a Chinese fake? However, the quality of the tips is far superior to the brush that came with this pen. This will quickly fall apart and turn into fiberglass dust. The…
