The problem with 50 is that all the cool stuff you bought in your 30s is suddenly 10 to 20 years old. I stumbled across an old Nikon external flash a while ago and wasn't too surprised to find the battery compartment was covered in corrosion and the flash looked dead. After several unsuccessful attempts to clean the battery posts with solvents, I searched the internet for advice and found scraper brushes. This was the first time I used a scratch brush. This brush appears to be well made and after using the brush on my flash for 5 minutes I was able to put in a new pair of batteries and the flash turned on and started working again.
