Review on πŸ”§ Wera 3950 Spkl/9 SM Metric Stainless Steel L-Key Set, MULTI by Original Mansel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Used by professional mechanics, would recommend to anyone

I always defer reviewing purchases until after more than a few months. I work full time in a bike shop and these tools are used more than any other. I have sliding T-handles and U-handle allen wrenches, but Wera always gets used to them. These wrenches hold up very well and the specially shaped head works very well even on worn hex bolts. The only real downside I can find with this set of wrenches is that the thick sleeve on each tool makes it difficult to get them in and out of the holder, but this is rarely a problem as I use them too often, to even play around with holder. I personally like the thick rubber cuff because it really serves a great purpose. If my cam is too tight I can use the wrench as leverage against the frame and the bushing prevents scratches. The heads show no noticeable wear even after several months of intensive use. I'd say a 10mm wrench isn't necessary for my needs as anything that requires a screw of that size would require such great force that it's just better to use my T-handle or hex instead. Bit to use on a breaking shank. It's one of the few tools that's worth buying in the store but isn't so expensive that it breaks the bank for the average user. Color-coded buttons are also very useful.

Pros
  • Allen key
Cons
  • Slightly dented
