I wouldn't recommend them unless you have a degree in radio and computers.

I was looking for a way to contact my remote facility about 1.9 miles (less than 2) from our office. The advertising seems to lead me to believe that at 8 watts this would be the ideal solution. A couple of issues: 1) We didn't get a programming disk with the radios 2) The addendum doesn't mention that we will likely need an FCC license to use them if necessary 3) The radios, although they seem to be very efficient, programming intensive and the menu navigation/programming is almost impossible without a non-supplied disc. 4) The documentation is so small that it cannot be read without a magnifying glass and is also poorly prepared. 5) You must be or become a "HAM RADIO" operator to use this system. I wouldn't recommend them unless you have a radio and computer degree
