later I didn't think the pictures were an accurate representation of how red the flames really are. When you turn on the gas, the lighter has a kind of metal rod that turns the flame neon red when heated. The lighter produces a huge bright red flame and gets very hot. This is such a high quality and easy to use lighter. Starts the first time every time. Reliable, high quality and super cool with that big neon red flame. Highly recommended.
