My car was flashing check engine light and had trouble starting but once started it ran fine. I used an OBD2 scanner to read the freeze frame data and found that the car was throwing a code at 2200 rpm and the LT fuel trim was 39.7. This led me to suspect a problem with the fuel pressure or MAF sensor. I collected live data while driving and noticed that the MAF reading dropped erratically at high RPM, indicating a possible problem with the MAF. I got this sensor as it was an OEM brand and it was very easy to replace and I saw straight away that the starting problem was gone and the machine is running much better now. A week later the Check Engine light did not come on and the car passed the inspection.
