Good Stuff - Tire & Wheel Care

Some reviews are harder than others; that is hard. Let me explain; I am a reducer. I own five cars and a microlight and am directly responsible for the daily maintenance of four cars (and the plane). Like anyone who would take the time to review Revain via tire cleaner, these things are important to me. Therefore this assessment is difficult. Like many other reviewers, I've used them all: Meguiars, Black Magic, Car Guys, etc. In fact, even before "shiny tires" were anything special, we used regular armor-all sprays on tires, dashboards, vinyls, etc. ( It wasn't bad.) In fact, none of the well-known brands currently in this line of products are bad. It's just that no tire care product works really well for a long time. The glitter doesn't last long, probably because it can't. Tires heat up and cool down under load. In my world (Southeast, Pennsylvania) it rains, snows or the sun shines directly on the wheels. The sun is the nemesis of all paints, stains and coatings. And maybe some tire polish. So none of these products are great, as I define the term. This product is good and my current favorite. Armor-all Extreme Gel is easy to apply and looks good on splints and lining. There is little or no waste if you are careful enough. A little seems to go a long way. The tire might look good for a week, it depends. The price is competitive. I can get 16 tires and some coverage in a fairly short amount of time. I will buy more. TIP: The applicator is fine. Threw it away after one use. We use a special sweat sock and a special 3 inch brush (for the grooves on the sidewalls of the tires) to apply the material.

Pros
  • Gives a serious black shine when wet that lasts for weeks
Cons
  • Not reliable
