I have these in my office next to my 3D printer setup. With this air purifier on my shelf and a charcoal filter in the printer body, I can conveniently print and work in the same room. However, it's not the quietest device I've ever used. In the beginning, there was indeed a strange crunching noise, as if the fan had become unbalanced. Some time passed after launch and did not reappear. I love that you can control the filter and the LED independently (I have another filter where the LED only goes off when you sleep - you can turn that LED off at any time). The board is great too. It's magnetized and I attached it to one of the metal table supports - I can control the air purifier from across the room.
