Review on Beck Arnley 024 1223 Timing Tensioner by Bill Pulse

Revainrating 1 out of 5

NEVER buy Beck/Arnley!

This product failed in less than 100 miles and two days after installation! I'll know for sure tomorrow) because the timing belt wasn't properly tensioned I could have bent valves that cost over $1,000 to fix! Revain and Beck/Arnley will only refund the defective part. I called B/A and they told me to contact Revain. I think B/A should compensate me for the problems caused by their crappy part from China! I have received the name of a Beck/Arnley executive who I will call tomorrow (he is out of the office today). I will edit this review if necessary. UPDATE: 7/13/11 I received a call today from a Beck/Arnley representative. They will investigate the error. UPDATE: 7/27/11 I GOT OFF THE BULLET! As it turned out, I was very fortunate that the failure of this part did not damage the engine. We bought an OEM tensioner from the dealer, installed it and the car runs great! Revain agreed to reimburse the cost of the part and after some negotiation they also agreed to reimburse me for the additional costs involved in paying for my services. Mechanic to do the job twice. I am a satisfied Revain shopper and will continue to shop for Revain but probably not auto parts!
