later I don't know why it's so hard to find a good black doormat. It has everything you want in a rug for your home: heavy, non-slip, collects dirt and water, actually black (not dark grey), soft enough under bare feet, durable enough to scratch dirt. The outer edge isn't flimsy rubber, it's thick and durable and made of the same material as the mat itself so there aren't any rips or tears like I've seen in reviews of other rubber mats. The only thing that could be improved is a longer length (the standard 36 inch length instead of 35 or even 39-41 inches so there is a little more room to step on the mat when you first open the door and your house enter). . But of all the options, including other rugs from the same brand, this is the one you need! A great addition to our porch.
