There seems to be a lot of conflicting information about this pump so I will do my best to describe my experience. Compatibility: This works for ALL types of RO units. It does NOT have to be a Watts reverse osmosis system. You simply pump water from point A to point B and connect it to a standard sized pipe. With the exception of modifications to my fridge filter (see next section), all the hardware and supplies needed to install it on my 10 year old GE reverse osmosis system were included. Installing the pump took about 10 minutes. ice machines. I bought these to pressurize the ice maker in my new fridge. This pump solved the problem, but I also bypassed the built-in filter that came with the fridge (you don't need the fridge's basic filter if you have a reverse osmosis system, and the basic filter robs you of precious water pressure). I cut the two lines to/from the fridge filter and connected the uplinks to a $5 quick connect (5/16" in my case) from Home Depot that bypassed the filter. Note that this may void your warranty, so you can usually buy a $50 dummy filter to plug in if needed. In my case I couldn't just remove the fridge filter or the ice maker and water dispenser stopped working so I had to bypass them. Reverse osmosis systems: I installed the shaft according to the instructions before installing the reverse osmosis. Reverse osmosis membranes filter water by pressure drop across the membrane, so you need higher pressure on the inlet side (city water or well water supply side) to do reverse osmosis. water faster. It definitely fills the reverse osmosis tank faster than before, in addition to generating enough pressure for the ice maker. Pressure adjustment: I increased the pressure by turning the screw. Someone mentioned that they increased the pressure and never shut off the pump. because all cent water pumps stop working (the pump spins but doesn't pump water) when the outlet pressure exceeds the "shut off pressure". In this case simply turn the screw in the opposite direction to reduce the pressure until the pump shuts off. Then decrease another 1/2 turn. Note. The adjustment screw is cheap, and the sides of the hex head started peeling after a few adjustments, so don't plan on messing with it too much. Noise/Vibration: Had some vibrations initially (installed under my kitchen sink). I wrapped an old towel around the board and put a pump on top of it, which dampened the vibrations so much that I didn't even feel the pump while running. I hope this will be useful to someone!
