This shifter replaces an old, damaged SRAM shifter. It only took a few minutes to set the lever on the handlebars to its current position, connect the cable to the derailleur, make a few adjustments to the derailleur and I was basically done. The bike was fully functional again within 30-45 minutes, from installation to final adjustment. I like that both gear shifts (up and down the chain) are a "push/push" action and not a "push/pull" action like the previous shifter.
