we have a boat and our son was from 9 months to 14 months, 24-27 pounds, this sea season. It fit perfectly and was the only jacket he didn't cry in. It didn't bother him at all, didn't make him too hot and was comfortable enough to sleep and play in. My only complaint is that it's not very buoyant. He loves to swing and we always took him in the water with his jacket and buoyancy but a couple of times we tried swimming with him with just his jacket and it made me nervous I had to support him. Great for boating but honestly if you ever need to rescue and swim you need something else like a float. That's the only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5.
