I've been using the porcelain V60 for years. They produce a cup of coffee that is superior to any of the many other methods I've tried. BUT, Porcelain V60s are heavy, brittle and unwieldy to hold when hand washed. I broke mine 4 times in a cast iron sink while washing. Also, I use a bell-shaped coffee mug with a smaller than usual hole at the top, and the porcelain V60s had to balance on it quite unsteadily and sometimes dripped down the sides of the mug. Made from stainless steel, the V60 mug is lighter, easier to hold and clean, and fits more mugs. I also find that the filters fit a bit better and the flow rate is better. The coffee is still the best. I didn't notice any difference from the porcelain version. Quality is excellent including a silicone base that seems to last forever. Because the base is detachable, it's very easy to clean and should be a lot easier to transport. I love this product! IMHO this is the perfect V60!
