Review on 🚴 Santic Winter Cycling Jacket - Windproof Fleece Thermal Warm-Up Bicycle Jerseys with Long Sleeves and Windbreaker Feature by Carlos Phillips

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Slim fit with long sleeves, wind resistant, ideal for cycling as well as casual wear

++ I need this jacket's long sleeves, long enough so they don't go over my wrists while cycling is the last thing you need when the weather is already so cold. ++ Narrow, broad-shouldered cut instead of skin-tight fit (like Pearl Izumi or Castelli or other pro cycling brands), which I like a lot because I ride road bikes more for commuting. than for training and such, I can also wear this jacket around town without looking like a shrink-wrapped cyclist. ++ The front is super thin and flexible with an ultra-thin, soft fleece lining that you don't even think about. keeps you warm at all, but somehow it does so even in moderately windy weather, and the base layer and this jacket are good enough in the 50's and even the high 40's on sunny days (which is kudos from someone who is very thin and very cold). compared to 95% of people there) ++ Very reasonable prices. Their quality is on par with other competing bike brands, but you'll find them hard to come by for the price of this jacket, even at clearance prices. Things I care less about than most cyclists: **Pockets: I never use pockets on cycling jackets. I travel to work with a backpack, I have a saddlebag and my phone is handlebar mounted so I haven't tried bags on it (but don't see any obvious problems). ** Breathability: Breathability is probably not one of this jacket's strengths. However, I'm skinny and get colder than most people, and I mostly commute on flat trails, so I'm less concerned with breathability than with keeping warm on those rides. For aggressive cycling when I know I'm going to sweat I don't use this jacket. I wasn't cold and while running I felt like I was sweating just a little more than in my usual windproof fleece outer layer, but when I came back (after a quick stop at my street grocery store) I felt like I was in the front (wind protection) of this jacket still felt very wet. My base coats only had sweat streaks and they were partially drying walking home from a grocery store. But the inside front of this jacket still felt damp for at least 20-30 minutes at home, while my quick-drying base layer, laid out horizontally, by then had dried enough that I no longer felt moisture.** At the ends At the There are no thumb loops on the sleeves, but there is a stretch lining on the inside, which I never noticed in combination with the slightly crumpled sleeve ends and the long sleeves. ** Weight: Exactly 16 ounces, this jacket is not for fat women, but not much heavier than other professional jackets. In comparison, my 14.5 oz Pearl Izumi jacket has comparable or slightly better thermal insulation and is definitely more breathable than this jacket. Overall I am very happy with this jacket. This was one of my first cycling jackets and I have since invested in other more expensive and professional cycling jackets but still want to use this jacket both in and out of the saddle. I ride my bike in cold weather far more for training than for commuting and I rarely reach for this jacket for cycling compared to my Pearl Izumi jacket, mainly because it is less breathable or at least feels a little less warm and has a slightly looser fit as a result Putting on a little less easy so I wouldn't recommend this jacket for serious cycling and downgrading my rating accordingly by one star, but I still like to wear this jacket casually in autumn spring weather and would buy it again for that purpose alone.
