God I'm telling you I'm amazed this little thing isn't more popular on bodybuilding forums! Fuel pump check valves on GM vehicles have a history of failing and causing difficult starting as fuel flows back through the delivery line to the tank. I can't imagine the myriad of GOOD fuel pumps being rated BAD simply because the check valve in the fuel pump module failed. Well, this handy non-return valve is from sur&r. saved me from dropping the tank on my 1997 Z28 Camaro. Simply raise the rear of the car, place it on stands, cut the nylon fuel line as close to the tank as possible and screw in the check valve using the plastic nylon line lugs provided, and voila! No more hard starts! I checked the valve function before installation, I checked the fuel rail pressure with my gauge and after the two second lead that the ECM makes when the ignition key is turned on, the pressure immediately drops to zero. After installation I ran the same gauge test and the rail pressure was held at 40 lbs indefinitely. No more hard starts. The engine starts with the first turn of the key EVERY TIME. Good product. I can recommend it to anyone who has starting difficulties and is convinced that it is due to a lack of pre-pressure due to a defective factory check valve. Hats off.
