Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ EWAY Backup Reverse Rear View Camera for Jeep Wrangler Compass Commander Liberty Patriot Grand Cherokee - Spare Tire Mount, Adjustable 2007-2020 Models by Carlos Burrows

Revainrating 2 out of 5

A good product. A major drawback

Quick to assemble. I finally got around to installing it in my 2008 4-door Jeep Wrangler with the factory stereo/head unit. (along with subwoofer kit and some other electronic upgrades/modifications) Conclusion: Works as advertised Plenty of cables. Image Quality"ah". But that almost certainly has more to do with my 12-year-old factory radio screen than the camera. Installing and removing the spare wheel without damaging it requires a certain amount of finesse. I will revise the mounting configuration on this one. I used long braces and they are too long. The camera sticks out too far. .or I would! You see, there is one major downside. The steel bracket that the camera is attached to is fine. But the housing/mount that the camera itself goes into is plastic. And this plastic camera is attached to a metal bracket with two tiny screws. And I mean tiny. The threads aren't aggressive at all, and the holes in the plastic for fastening are loosened. I would like to say that the whole product is great until the camera falls off the mount because its tiny screws don't tighten or hold it securely. Mine is held in place with tape and shrink wrap. Not exactly a clean install. I would return it but I will not disassemble the jeep to unplug and repack. It works well, but there is a major weak link in this chain.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not satisfied with everything
