Many kits have an adjustable arm length that goes up to the wall. The reasons for this are obvious, see my drawing as one of many examples. You might get lucky if it fits your length. If not, you're one of the many who have returned it or had to make adjustments. In my case, either an inch shorter or longer would have worked, but raising or lowering a hole in the bracket made the AC angle too extreme. Edit: In case it's not clear from my drawing, since there's no way to get on a flat surface, the rotating leg rotates under the edge of the siding when you load it. .
