I used it right after opening the box. I had a pack of lemons and another lime that were beginning to age. I had to peel and juice them so I could freeze the juice. It has made many things easier. Both shells are of good quality and should stand up to everyday use. They are made of stainless steel. Silicone grips are comfortable. The juicer is large enough to squeeze a large lemon, medium orange or small grapefruit, but can also be used with a lime. He quickly finished off 8 lemons and 10 limes. The zester is comparable to other zesters I have used and also feels good in the hand. It's more expensive than similar items at Revain, but others I've seen didn't include a zester. This makes it a worthy value.
