I have to admit I was skeptical about both this product and the bidet in general. After several international trips, my husband returned home convinced that we need to be more hygienic. So, despite my protestations, he ordered this little bidet conversion kit. I'm not French, I've never used a bidet, and I was pretty sure my bum didn't need a little jet of water aimed at it. I was also concerned about clutter and hygiene as the American toilet in general is not designed for such things. However, after using this device for a year, I completely upgraded it. The only toilet we have in the house is my favorite toilet and there is nothing wrong with that! That means it just sits on the side of your toilet and you don't have to use it if you don't want to. It doesn't make any noise. Does not affect flushing and water level. He doesn't get dirty. (It has a self-cleaning mechanism if you want to wipe it down, or you can use a Lysol wipe). And indeed, there are times of the month (or just times in general) when you need a little spray of water to get extra clean! The water tank is located just below the rim of the toilet (not the seat) at the back of the bowl. You can't see it in the Revain photo, but it's basically a small white plastic box in the background. The on/off switch is located on the right side of the toilet as shown in the picture. You just turn it on and choose how strong the water flow should be. Then a small trickle of water hurls the plastic box straight at you-know-where! It's cold and takes some getting used to as an American isn't used to this sort of thing, but you don't have to worry about splashes coming out of the toilet as you basically cover the entire toilet seat opening when you sit on it. For me as a mother who cleans all the bathrooms in the house, this topic was very important. I didn't mean to purify the wandering waters! Again, what I like best about this device is that it's cheap and does what it's supposed to do and just sits there when you don't want to use it. You can forget about it if you want as it won't affect the toilet seat or functions. The only thing I would change about it if I could would be lower settings as I find the lowest click is as strong as I would like. And while there's a slight spectrum effect, I would have preferred an update where the entire adjustment knob was one large increment of strength rather than a five-click adjustment. (My husband, FYI, uses higher settings all the time for that super fresh feeling.) I know it's probably all TMI, so my apologies, but you're reading about it here, which is why you asked! Great kit, easy to install and remove.
