The end result was a nice looking shade that worked as it should but was ugly. Directions lead you down the path of disappointment. For example, you might want a kitchen knife to cut through the top and bottom plastic frames with a wiggling motion. I have a very nice carving knife, very well formed, that was almost ruined by this approach. I suggest measuring your window and cutting it on both sides with a box cutter as you will need to cut through the foam and plastic. There's also a cutting guide, which is useless as it's a matte plastic that doesn't let you see the length markings and moves fairly easily, defeating its purpose. Skip the instructions and trim using common sense, not the tools provided. I didn't have any problems with gluing, but before gluing I wiped with alcohol.
