BCD436HP, Updates (2) on dual links

This antenna improved my reception on multiple frequencies. I'm not sure about the markings on it that supposedly tell you how long it draws, but due to its extreme length, weird twin pivot, and questionable fixation in the mount on my BCD436HP, it's very easy to attach the permanent mount to the scanner to damage. At full extension, when both joints are straight, it wobbles, especially the first joint closest to the scanner, and is very difficult to keep straight. Probably best for a desktop home base rather than a portable one. The double hinge allows the scanner and antenna to be placed at right angles, but the single hinge also makes this possible. Update 1: I found a way to solve the double hinge issue. Bend the first joint (bottom) at a right angle, for my scanner, bend right towards the upper stability control, then bend the second joint at a right angle straight up. When I stopped trying to hold the antenna straight with both joints and tried this, it's solid. No more rocking, no more frustration. Update 2: Despite success with the double right angle method in my first update, it's useless. This antenna is not suitable for portable devices. Even if he behaves upright and stands upright, the top of the scanner will become heavier. I recommend it for base units or portable devices, lying on a table, etc.
