They are very well designed. Think it's just an OEM part packaged as a slime. Many cheap aluminum valve covers are made entirely of aluminum, which will oxidize and deposit on the valve stems, sometimes causing valve stem damage to TPMS sensor stems that are expensive to replace. They have a plastic core, they work great even in winter when salt is sprinkled on the road. The only downside is that the color fades with use over the winter when water/salt/sand is dumped on the streets I live on but at this price point you should replace them with a new set every spring.
